Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Mira ("the Service") at miralibrary.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Cita de Juegos ("we", "us", or "our"), the operator of Mira.

2. Description of Service

Mira is an AI-powered board game rules assistant that helps players look up and understand the rules of tabletop games. Mira provides:

  • Natural language rules consultation for supported board games
  • A searchable game library with rankings and community data
  • A personal game collection management tool
  • Community features for board game enthusiasts

Mira is available in English, Spanish, and French.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Mira. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

If you are using Mira on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. Accounts

4.1 Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at citadejuegos@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4.3 One Account Per Person

Each user may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent rate limits or other restrictions is prohibited.

5. Free Access and Rate Limits

5.1 Free Tier

Mira is free to use for all registered users. Free users are subject to a daily query limit as published on the platform. This limit resets daily at midnight Pacific time.

5.2 Patreon Supporter Tiers

Users who support Mira through our Patreon campaign may be eligible for higher daily query limits and additional features. Supporter benefits are described on the Patreon page and within the Mira platform.

Patreon pledges are processed and managed by Patreon. Mira is not responsible for billing, refunds, or disputes related to Patreon payments. For Patreon billing issues, contact Patreon directly.

5.3 Rate Limit Changes

We reserve the right to modify rate limits at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

6. Acceptable Use

6.1 Permitted Use

You may use Mira for personal, non-commercial board game rules consultation.

6.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Automate queries — use bots, scripts, or automated tools to query Mira at a rate that exceeds normal human use
  • Scrape content — systematically extract, copy, or harvest data from Mira's responses or database
  • Circumvent limits — create multiple accounts or use technical means to bypass rate limits
  • Misuse the AI — attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or extract unintended outputs from the AI system
  • Infringe intellectual property — use the Service in a way that violates the copyrights of game publishers or other rights holders
  • Violate laws — use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harm others — use the Service to harass, deceive, or harm other users or third parties
  • Overload the Service — take actions that impose disproportionate load on the infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without prior notice.

7. AI Limitations and Accuracy Disclaimer

This is important. Please read carefully.

Mira uses artificial intelligence to interpret and respond to rules questions. AI-generated responses:

  • May contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations of game rules
  • Are not official rulings from game publishers, designers, or any tournament authority
  • May not reflect errata, FAQs, or updates issued after Mira's knowledge base was last updated
  • Should not be used as the sole basis for tournament, competitive, or high-stakes rules decisions

For official rulings, always consult:

  • The official rulebook provided with the game
  • The publisher's official FAQ or errata documents
  • The publisher's official support channels

By using Mira, you acknowledge that responses are provided as a convenience and that Cita de Juegos is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated rules interpretations.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Mira's Content

The Mira platform, including its design, code, original content, and features, is owned by Cita de Juegos and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

8.2 Game Content

Mira's knowledge base is built from publicly available rulebooks, FAQs, and official game documentation. Game titles, rules text, and associated intellectual property remain the property of their respective publishers and rights holders. Mira's use of this content is intended to facilitate gameplay assistance and does not claim ownership of any game-related intellectual property.

8.3 BoardGameGeek Data

Mira integrates data from BoardGameGeek (BGG) in accordance with BGG's terms of service. BGG data (ratings, rankings, game metadata) remains the property of BoardGameGeek and its contributors.

8.4 Your Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to Mira (such as your game collection). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content to provide and improve the Service.

9. Data and Privacy

Your use of Mira is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Specifically regarding usage data: By using Mira, you consent to your anonymized, aggregated usage data being used to generate insights reports for board game publishers, as described in the Privacy Policy. These reports never include personally identifiable information.

10. Third-Party Services

Mira integrates with third-party services including Patreon, BoardGameGeek, Google Firebase, Anthropic, and others. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

11. Availability and Modifications

11.1 Service Availability

We strive to maintain consistent availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Mira may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control.

11.2 Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

11.3 Modifications to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes by email.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

  • THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED
  • AI-GENERATED RESPONSES WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE
  • THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CITA DE JUEGOS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
  • LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED RULES INTERPRETATIONS
  • DAMAGES ARISING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (OR $10 CAD IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE ANY PAYMENTS).

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cita de Juegos and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may close your account at any time by contacting citadejuegos@gmail.com or through the account settings.

15.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to Mira at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Sections 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, and 16 survive termination.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Mira shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of competent jurisdiction in British Columbia, Canada.

If you are located in the European Union, you may also have the right to submit disputes to your local consumer protection authority.

17. General

17.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cita de Juegos regarding the Service.

17.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

17.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

17.4 Assignment

You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to a successor in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
